Ray,

Select your object, then in the Attribute panel, click the "Add Plug-in" icon. That opens up a menu with a long list of effects. There will be two types of explosions in the menu. You will have to keyframe the explosion using "Level" to control the progress of the explosion.

Really? When I have, say a basketball object on the edit screen, there is no explosion affect available?
Please show me how to explode a basketball. I dare ya!

Thanks,

Ray
Hmmm. Maybe an apology is in order. I see you can explode objects but not the 3D Models.
I guess I was confusing the two.

So then, how can I import say a 3DS model and convert it to a MS3D object?
(probably the better question)

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray,

There might be three ways to explode a 3D model.

First way is to explode the individual objects that comprise the 3D model. That would be feasible if you only have a few objects that make up a model. You would select the objects in the Object Manager panel.

The second way is to import the 3D Studio Model (*.3DS) with the D3D data type option. You'll see that option on the Open dialog. Then you'll have an "Object Explosion" menu item to select from the Attribute Panel.

The third way is to export as an Direct X model and then import the Direct X model. The X model is then just one object. All I've been able to do is bring the shape of the model back in. I need to add back the color and texture. EDIT: Okay, if you use the D3D option with the Direct X model, the color and texture are preserved. The C3D data type option will bring the X model in as one object without color or texture.

Awesome! The 2nd and 3rd options work!

Now, can I create custom motion paths?

You mean can you save custom object motions, and the answer is yes. That's what the EasyPalette is for. Click the "Add to EasyPalette" button at the top of the EasyPalette.

Please post any other questions as a separate topic, not in the WishList.

Motion Studio 3D is a good program , but it is 10 years old.
My updating suggests are:

1. The program still has the same memory limit as the old ulead program, it will crash if you try to render to large a file.
2. A 64-bit version of the program.
3.The ability to create large avi or flash files (1024X300), remove size limits.
4. Able to import and export other 3d file formats (fbx, collada, POSER,BLENDER).

Wish to have:
1) Footage / Image place holder as texture, so I can create templates in VideoStudio.
2) Copy / past set of keyframes – not only one at a time.
3) Better control with shortcuts (for example X, Y, Z should jump to the XYZ values…)

Hello,

This is the ONLY product of COREL that it is only available as DOWNLOAD VERSION only.
There is NO BOX VERSION available!
I contact COREL, and the answer is that THERE IS NO BOX VERSION and even the backup CD will be depend on internet in order to activate the software.

So, the result is that during activation process, there is a need of internet connection.
ONLY THE BOX VERSION is NOT NEEDED to be on internet in order to activate.
So, for this reason i WILL NOT BUY it , because i have a principle ALL MY softwares i buy, i want to be COMPLETELY INDEPENDED from internet connection.
Why?
This is my principle.
Anyway, can you please add to the WHISHLIST OF NEXT VERSION the availability to be also a BOX VESRION?

Many thanks

Glad to see this product still exists. :D

I tried to create a Wikipedia article, but all the sources I provided were rejected, and I was told that it had to be covered by ABC News or some other source. They said it was not an encyclopedia. I should not have donated it.

Some of it has been ported to the more recent VideoStudio Ultimate, but I still find MotionStudio easier to use. I still use it.

The particle animation is a mess and I would like to see more natural motion particle animation.

I would like to see a bone function added, referring to the blender Armature.
