Lens Profile

Post by Oggiwara1 »

I see there are a lot of popular lenses that Corel Aftershot Pro 3 does not support lens profile/correction for. I have a Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM, Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD, Sigma 50mm Art F1.4 DG HSM and Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM Art to mention a few. When can we expect to see these lenses and more in this software?

I cannot tell whether Corel will include more lenses in ASP or not. However you can help yourself and add a new lens to ASP. I had the very same problem for two lenses a Nikon 24-85 F3,5-4,5 as well as a Samyang 14mm F2,8. I found profiles for these lenses in the LensFun open source project: http://lensfun.sourceforge.net/ project and was able to use this information for ASP. After all it was not too hard to get this to work.

I wrote down what I did to make it work here:

The blog is in german, however perhaps google translate can help translate it into your preferred language.

It is a tragedy. Now even Lensfun has had no updates anymore since November 2015. Still version 0.3.2. So no new lenses included.

Hi,
New in the board. I’m looking for the lens profile for the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 SP Di VC USD G2 A022 (Canon Mount) for AfterShot Pro 3, with Tamron TC-X14 also.

So for my cameras Panasonic DMC LX100 and the Panasonic Lumix GH5 my problems are solved.
I did a feature request to Corel in September 2019, telling them that Panasonic stores the lens distortion paramters in each RAW file. For GH5 they implemented it with the update 4 in Aprill 2018, but somehow they forgot the LX100 and added the feature with the Update 5 in October.
