It's depend on your work and did you have problems with X9?
Check what X9 version you have.
Personally I updates up to 19.2 and not more.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X9 vs VideoStudio Pro X9.5
Hi Stelios - - the upgrade to X9.5 is simply a free update - it does not cost anything at all - so just install it because it also fixes some problems with Videostudio
But already X9.5 is updated to X9.6 with yet another free patch - which again also fixes some more errors in Videostudio
just go to - http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppor ... sion-tab=0 and download and install the free upgrade and service pack 4 which will then give you Videostudio version 19.6.0.1 - all at no cost
not just a free update - but the solution to some problems as well - so well worth doing
it seems strange to me not to have the most updated version when it is completely free

Re: VideoStudio Pro X9 vs VideoStudio Pro X9.5
So Corel kept asked me to do an update to Video studio the last few weeks, I did it and now when I open Video Studio, all my custom folders in the Media bay have disappeared...I had clips trimmed and edited for projects in there and they now gone...Why did it do that and can I restore all my working folders at all? :/

It's always bad decision to make changes to software in the middle of a project.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X9 vs VideoStudio Pro X9.5
Hi
When I installed that patch I did not notice any problem with my library.
Unusually I was able to run the patch 4 again, which seemed to install again.
Normally we would receive an error regarding version types.
But no problems, maybe need a reinstall to test this out fully

Oh absolutely, you're quite correct, I just ended up clicked on it without thinking one day...asik1 wrote:It's always bad decision to make changes to software in the middle of a project.
Normally with updates, I haven't had that issue before...So there's no place way I can get my folders back? They aren't stored in a folder somewhere, as it does allow to "Import Folders"

Re: VideoStudio Pro X9 vs VideoStudio Pro X9.5
your library folders are stored here
C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\19.0
but you failed to backup them. If you have a habit of "restore points" with your OS than you might be lucky there,
I wonder why you even thought about updating, did you had any problem you confirmed this update will resolve?
I'm still running 19.2 and non of the newer updates will resolve any of my problems ( but probably will issue new ones)

Hi John
After re-installing the program I build the library with a range of folders and clips.
Applied the patch and my library is intact, all folders are available.
I do not know why your program should be different?????
I know this is a daft question, but your library are selected via the 3 icons at the top adjacent to the orange disc.
The import Media files will still work with those deselected.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X9 vs VideoStudio Pro X9.5
This problem appeared after i updated to x9.5 :
I'm encountering an issue in multi-cam Corel Videostudio, i'm working with 1080p MTS format video code,
The program freezes everytime i put in videos that duration over around an hour, the mouse cursor seem act normally, but wherever i click the program just no responding from the mouse clicking i just cant comfirm the program freezes ?
The issue started since i was updated to version X9.5 (the x9 no such problem at all, i can add anyvideos that extend to 4,5 or 6 hours with many clips without problem) and today after i installed new version X10, the problem still persists.
Any help will be appreciated, many thanks
(sorry for my bad English )

Hi Chaofei
If you are certain the problem started after installing the service packs are you able to re-install the program using the original downloaded files.
You should locate the 64bit folder that contains a Ultimate (Pro) folder , that Ultimate folder is the main program, run by double clicking the Setup.exe file.
After installation ignore any requests to up date.
Sorry but I do not know of any other thing to do other than re-install.
Please do not run the Web Installer or download any other files if you are requested to do so.

Hi
Are you able to work with X9 MCE before installing the updates.
I did not realise there were such a difference in MCE after installing SP4
For the time being I would suggest running X9 without updates.
I have brought this post to the attention of corel support.

Hi Chaofei
Update
Corel have identified the problem as CVSX9.5 only
earlier version X9.3 and X10 work ok.
Hopefully a fix will be available soon.
