Start a new object
Change the object dimensions to one of the standard sizes to match your video project. This is important to make the project appear smooth when placed in your video.
Select Studio Compositions from the thumbnails.
Pick the composition you want to borrow, or create your own.
Drag it into your object screen.
Pay attention to your fps (Frames Per Second). The different compositions have different specifications. Make sure you end up with something that matches your video project.

Now is a good time to make the change to match your video project. 29.97 fps for NTSC and 25 fps for PAL are standard, both available right on the drop down menu.
Edit the text at this point. To make this easier, you may want to slide the frame slide to a point that you can see all of the existing text, usually [start]
From the menu, select Edit, Edit Text (or press F4) to change the text used.
One interesting thing here is that you can have multiple lines of text, and you can have different font sizes all within the same text block (very versatile).
Make any size, color or texture adjustments that you feel necessary and this is the point that you can save your Cool 3D object, and create the animation file.
You now have your 3D title and it is time to move to VideoStudio 9.
With your video project already created and on the timeline,
drop the new animated file into the overlay track.
With VS9 you can right click on the overlay in the view screen
You want to click on [Original Size] Then you want to click [Keep Aspect Ratio] You can also drag the yellow corners to make the overlay animation larger.
Next, you need to use the [Chroma Key] function to hide the background, and bring through the original video clip. Once you click [apply overlay options] you will need to adjust the Similarity percentage to vary the amount of the video showing through. You may also need to use the eyedropper to select the color that you want to make transparent.
The best way to do this is to move the current position forward using the slider under the view window. This will get you to a place that you can see your animation and the effect of the similarity adjustments.
You now have an easy 3D title to go with your video, and most of the hard work was done by Ulead in their Studio Compositions provided with Cool 3D, that they throw in free with the purchase of Video Studio.
