Hi everybody, I'am new as poster to the board but have read it for long. Currently using VS8 and done a lot of good DVDs with it, I got curious on VS9 and was thinking of just installing the trial on another partition on my HD. Now is this just asking for problems or would it work just fine?
(Have search for similar topics without succes so far.)
Thanks and Regards, xatnep
Can VS8 and VS9 co-exist on same HD?

Hi xatnep,
For what it's worth, I currently have VS9 & 8 on my computer. I have only 1 hard drive and not partitioned. There shouldn't be any problems with having both versions. Also before upgrading to VS9 I did run the TBYB version along with VS8 & VS5...
There is the DANGER that you will really like VS9 and will want to purchase it. There's some risk in everything...

I got to ask Brian and Vidoman, why do you have multiple versions on your system? I did have VS8 and 9 on at one time when I was testing 9, but once I determined that 9 addressed the issues that I had with 8, then I unloaded both and reinstalled 9. I did that in case the unload of 8 took off some of the files that the two shared.
Now if you are keeping them on there so that you can answer questions on this forum, I think that is great and admire you for your commitment to help the forum, I for one really appreciate the senior members on the forum and the great advise they provide. But if that was not the reason, then I was stumped and needed to ask.

Thanks Brian. I have to admit, I have wandered around your ramblings a few times myself. Like I mentioned in the earlier message, I appreciate the responses that members like you provide for this forum. Without this I don't think Ulead would have anything for support.
