Missing Codec

Post by The Old Timer »

I have been tying out some of the features of this program & was surprised when looking at the various presets that some of them don't work unless you purchase an additional codec. When I tried to see the various 'video backgrounds' that are found in easy pallette under 'scene' category all I get is a pop up telling me to purchase the 'Indeo' codec if I wish to use these presets. Is this really the case or am I missing something? I already have many codec's on my PC & I can't really see people purchasing another one that would rarely if ever be used? I there a workaround for this?

Hi OldTimer,

Don't you also have VS8 or9? If so the Ligos Indeo codec should be provided with it.

At the moment I don't know how to get 3DPS to recognize the codec in VS. I had purchased it(Indeo codec) sometime ago.

EDIT

Done a search on the forum and subsequently came up with a link for the still free 5.1 Indeo Codec. You might try it, or email Ulead...

Hope that helps..

Thanks for that. I downloaded the codec & it's now working. I don't know why I didn't have it already or why I got the message to purchase it.
