...is 'express' the right choice for me?

Post by ejskater16 »

Hi

About a year ago I downloaded a trial of Workshop 2, and burned one DVD with it. While I had it, I was very pleased!

However, since I own MediaStudio Pro 7 and am not able to purchae the upgrade price to MF2, I was considering upgrading (from currently using MovieFactory 2) up to Workshop Express...

I tried searching, reading old threads, and checking the comparison chart on the website... but sometimes I guess I just felt like I still wanted to ask here before making any purchases. (I wish there was a trial for Express...)

Anyway - my question is, do I need Workshop 2 full version, or would I be fine with Express? During the trial I really enjoyed the customization possibilities that were available... being able to create objects and drag them wherever... add a short intro video before the menu popped up on the TV... things like that. I'm sorry I can't explain it very well - but the point is, well, I can't create a very original and customized DVD using my current program, MovieFactory 2 LE!!

If anyone can give me some advice here, I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks!

Click Here to se the differences in express and the full version.

I have Express, and I'm quite satisfied with it.

BTW- Since you have Media Studio 7, installed on your computer, you can get an upgrade version of DVD Workshop Express for $150.

The only reasons why you would need the full version is if you need to make DLT tapes for glass mastering, with copy/region protection or if you needed more than 2 sub-title or audio tracks.

DVD WS Express 2 installation

Post by J'rome »

I purchased the boxed version of DVD WorkShop 2 Express and was told if I own Visual studio 8/9 or Media Stuio Pro 8 the updated version will install. When I try to install the app. a message pops up stating no U  lead products are installed on my computer. I then point the installation to the directory where my Ulead apps are installed but the program will not load. Please advise :(
