Controlling shuttle knob with keyboard

Is there a way to control the shuttle knob that's in the source window with the keyboard. ie. the (+/-) .2x .5x 1x 2x 5x ...

The shortcuts hint to a <shift> + arrow key, but that does not work. It's a pain to control the knob with the mouse.

If you mean how do you fine tune zeroing in onto a particular frame you use the left and right arrow keys.

Which version?

Try the J, K, L keys in <8.0 or 8.1. They do not work in 8.0.

J/L buttons worked as "Jog", but not as "Shuttle" (Preview and Timeline).
I need way to control Shuttle Knob. No shotcuts for this knob...
