Unspecified Error 14252:1:0

Post by John A »

Hello All,

I have an error in the very last phase of Output, when the project starts to actually burn the DVD. Anyone recognize it?

An error stops the burn, reading

Error - 16389

Followed by a second box

Unspecified Error 14252:1:0

There's an OK button for me to press as well, which is grimly ironic because it's not OK with me that my project fails to burn properly.

I am using DVD Movie Factory 3 on an XP system with a P4 processor. My MovieFactory worked properly for one entire project. Then it suddenly started incorrectly reporting the project size/space needed information. (It would say about 250 MB when the project was actually many times that size.) I downloaded a patch which fixed that problem, but now the burning process seems to be affected. I will reinstall without the patch and see if I can burn a project, even if the project size is listed incorrectly.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Reinstall does not help

A reinstall of the original disc has not solved the problem.

I've only been using DVD Movie Factory 3 for a couple of weeks, but I'm not too pleased with it. Yes, it's easy to use and I like generating my own colorful menus with background music, etc. However after my first successful authoring, I've had one that resulted in a buggy DVD-R and now this one that refuses to burn at all.

I've been getting the same errors in MF 3.5 and I did get a response from ULEAD but they basically just told me to un-install, clear ULEAD from the registry and a couple of folders. Tried it several times with no luck. Looks like an issue with the software, not the user or system. Maybe if enough people send ULEAD an email about this, they will see it's their software and try and fix it.
