Wonder if anyone can help me. Until recently have not had facility to edit mini DV on my PC and have just put straight onto DVD using a standard DVD recorder. That has the ability to multisession and with 6 hours recording available i have gone back and topped it up several times. Now have a new PC and was hoping to do likewise but don't seem to be able to multisession on either the existing DVD (one already recorded on the DVD recorder) or a new DVD started on the PC. Which - if any - one on Ulead's packages will enable me to multisession?
Can anyone answer this?
thanks tootieb
which software do i need?

Hi,
You need to post what version of MF your using (version number and if it's full retail/trial or special edition MF4se etc.
Also depends on the Mode your recording with in the dvd recorder.
Also depends on the dvd disk your using (DVD-RW for -VR mode or Video mode), (DVD+RW for +VR mode or Video mode).
What mode are you recording in? What recorder are you using?
Do you have to finalize the dvd in the recorder before putting into the computer?
With MF4 you can use "Edit Dvd Disk to do what you want"
Also you can use the -VR module and add/edit and create playlists.
Note: If you record a rewritable dvd in a dvd recorder (dvd-rw) in -VR mode and finalize it. Then put the dvd in your dvd writer in the computer AND IF you have packet writing software such as Nero InCD installed.
You can read the disk and extract the contents BUT when you EJECT the disk Nero InCD will lock the drive and start writing to it updating the contents (thinking it's formatted for packet writing). This will make the dvd un-readable in the computer and in the recorder.
If possible when packet writing software such as Nero InCD is installed for extracting videos use a dvd reader only to avoid this problem. If you really need InCD installed.
Hope this helps
