"Disc is Not Empty or There is no Disc in the Device&qu

Post by DavidR »

I keep getting this message when I'm just about to "burn"

I've just got a relatively small slideshow I want to burn to DVD and its driving me mad !!
I've removed my other burning Software, NERO and downloaded all the patchs from Ulead to no avail. On the Finish (Burn Page) where it says Disc type: it shows empty

The DVD drive does seem to be working normally if I run it from My Computor without ULead DVD Moviefactory 4

The DVD drive is a TEAC CD-W516EB 1-OB

Can anyone help ??

Looks like you can only create VCD's or SVCD's with that drive.
The model number you posted is a CD Writer (not dvd's).

http://www.teac.com/DSPD/support/dt_ide ... e_cdrw.htm

Change your project to VCD and use a CD.

Hope this helps,

Hi,
When you started your project did you select CD or DVD?

When you start the project you need to select VCD.

I have the same eror;disc not empty or no disc. Not true! I want to burn an avi file to DVD. I use a Hammer (Panasonic-Matsushita) 16X internal burner. The software came with it for gosh sakes! Any suggestions yet?

I've got a very similar problem, and I can't find a solution or answer anywhere. I know no one has posted in this thread in weeks, but I hope someone will see this.

I'm running Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 SE. I have a DVD burner, and I've successfully burned about 5 DVDs, so I know everything is compatible. I haven't changed any settings since those successful burns, so I know it's not that.

I keep getting these errors:

"Disc Not Empty, or there is no disc in device. Insert a blank disc, and try again."

This has come up before, and usually switching discs or restarting the computer fixes the issue. But it's not working anymore. No matter which disc I put in, it says it's not blank (but the discs are brand new).

How can I fix this?

Here's another error that I get sometimes, but usually a restart fixes. "Error in source file". That's only happened maybe twice in my many attempts.

Also, another answer I can't seem to find, is why does it say my project file is (for example) 3 GB, but when I go to burn the disc, it says the files are too large? How hard is it to accurately tell file size?
