I am making CD slideshows from digital pics taken on a 3.2 megapixel camera. When I download the camera chip to MS software into a folder on my PC, I then make a slideshow using Ulead Slideshow 2. It works fine, but when I play the CD in my DVD player on my 55" big screen TV, the pics come out "grainy". I know itis NOT the camera, because when I use the camera supplied cable to view the pics in my camera directly from the camera into the TV, the pic quality is excellent. Something is happening after downloading the pics to my PC folder, or, Ulead Pictureshow 2 cannot make slideshows with good quality pictures. Has anyone had experience like this? I am considering updating to Ulead Pictureshow 4 version, but reluctant to do so without knowing if this will make a slideshow with good quality.
Appreciate any help.

It’s kinda just the way things are.
When you use the camera to show your pictures on the TV, the camera is converting the still images into a high quality video signal that the TV uses.
However, when you make a VCD you are actually making a MPEG1 movie file that is then converted by the DVD player into a signal for your TV. This movie file on the CD is a lower quality than on a DVD or that your camera produces. Try the SVCD setting and see if that looks any better.

Re: projector
Basically your VCD is what it is regardless of the playback device. The larger the viewing area (i.e.; Big Screen TV, LCD projector screen, etc...), the more you'll notice the poor quality. If you want to view your project with the best possible quality a smaller screen would a better choice.j_ove2 wrote:If I were to project the vcd using a projector, will the quality remain the same? or will it be better than on tv?
