Hey All!
I am having an issue saving projects in MSP8. When I save a project and try to re-open it I get a "File Reading Error" message.
This only seems to happen when I have added an effect to one of more of the clips in the Timeline.
Example: I save or save as, a project with simple clips in the Timeline, No Problem.
I save or save as, a project with an effect added (Overlay, Image Mask, Canvas) to a clip and I cannot re-open it.
I have read previous posts regarding Auto Save conflicts corrupting files but this doesn't seem to be my issue it happens with Auto Save on or off.
Anyone else encounter this? Any suggestions?
Thanks Jonah

This does rear its head now and then, and not just with MSP8. I've seen posts denoting similar problems with other products that do auto-save. Windoze....who knows?
If/when you have a problem loading a project the first thing to try is inserting the project directly to the timeline (right-click/Insert Project File).

Thanks for the reply Terry,
Insert Project doesn't do the trick. It only happens with projects that have effects added and it only has happened to me with MSP8.
It may be a "windoze" thing but I have never had this issue with MSP7 or VS9, VS8.
Until I figure this out I am stuck doing simple edits and adding my effects right before I am ready to Create a final Video File and send to DVD authoring, which works well with or without effects.
Thanks Again!
I'll keep experimenting!

Thanks Again Terry,
Yes I have tried Auto Saved versions and the same thing. Auto Saved versions without effects opened fine, versions that I had added effects to wouldn't open. The same issue with manually Saved and Save As versions.
I have tried the same experiments with other aspects such as projects with Auto Music added and they work and re-open fine as long as I don't add video effects.
I'll keep trying
Thanks Jonah
