No sound in MF3 or MF4 trial ver

Post by denn78961 »

I have a Samsung R-120 table top player/recorder that will record in either DVD VR mode (produces a VRO file) or DVD video mode (produces a VOB file).

I am also using a Haupauge PVR 150 tuner card that produces mpg files when using the Haupauge software for recording. I also have a SE version of Ulead Movie Factory 3 that I received with the Haupauge.

I also downloaded the trial version of MF 4.

I am trying to capture video and sound from my analog camcorder and also from my VCR (old vhs family tapes).

I am able to get the MF 3 to recognize and "capture" the video but I receive a warning that MF 3 does not support Dolby Digital audio. So I can capture and edit the video but I have no sound.

When I try to use the trial ver of MF 4 I do not get the warning as in MF 3, but I still have no sound. In both 3 and 4 there is no sound in the edit/playback window when I am editing the file.

Does the MF 4 trial version just not support Dolby Digital and the full version would support it?

All I want to do is to be able to capture my old videos and edit (delete) some of the bad parts to shorten length, and then to record on to a DVD in a format that will play on most DVD players. I know the recording media (ie -RW) must be compatible with the DVD player.

I would appreciate any help, suggestions, or advice I can get.

Thanks, Denny
