No Sound Ulead DVD Player 2.0
Laurent
I have a the same problem, no sound on playing DVD movie using Ulead DVD player 2.0.
I also bought a pioneer DVR-110D, with the Ulead software, MovieFactory 4.0 Deluxe Suite, Ulead DVD Player 2.0, Ulead Burn. Now 2.0, Ulead Disk recorder 2.1. It is suppose to make DVD of my home movies. I have not had time to get around to working with it, do to all the holiday stuff. I just installed the DVD player I got from Video-Guys.com, good source of video information. I bought the Pioneer because of the Ulead software. The DVD was $80 I thought the Ulead software was at least that. I could have gone Sony and got Neon software, but I chose Ulead. I have tried a lot of things but nothing works. I thought it was me. Then I saw your post. We both have the same problem. Maybe there is an issue with the Ulead DVD Player 2.0. I sent an Email, maybe they will figure something out. I do not want to start trying to burn DVDs untill I know everything works. I will try to keep in touch.

No Sound Ulead DVD Player 2.0
I was going to try using another DVD player like windows media player. I am glad you had success. I will try that next. I was hoping to use Ulead. I guess if Ulead dose not work I will have to change. I wonder what the rest of the software is like. I have not burned any DVDs yet. I was thinking of copying some DVDs for personal use, so I do not scratch the originals. I understand if the DVD is copy protected one uses an encryption program and then a compression program to copy the DVD to a new DVD disk. Then you store the original and watch the copy. I am not copying to sell or give away, just personal use. I hope Ulead finds the problem with Ulead DVD Player 2.0. I would really like to use it.
Thanks

I load a new DVD player, PowerDVD by Cyberlink. Works great, my be better then Ulead. I have not heard back from Ulead support. Tough break for Ulead to sell or use software that does not work. This can not be good, it is going to make them look real bad. I hope they get it together and take care of this issue real soon. Video-Guys.com recommended them for some of the DVD authoring software.

Here is why the DVD does not play sound. This is what I got from the technical support group from Ulead.
According to your version, the Dolby Digital support is not included in this version. OEM/SE versions are built specifically according to the request of the OEM partner
What is the big deal about providing software that plays Dolby Digital?
These guys are counting pennies. It make me wonder about the rest of the software they provide.

I got the exact same reply from Ulead. I wrote back on their form and said they did not help me solve the problem. I also asked them why I could not get sound from any configuration even if it's not Dolby or digital. They have not respnded yet. I mean why bundle your product with someone elses if it isn't going to work. That's real incentive to buy the full version.

Probs with Ulead bundle and DVR-R100
Greetings
I also have A DVR-R100. One thing to try is to uninstall the UDF driver that came with the bundle. The Ulead player looks good on paper, but the UDF not-uncommonly seems to conflict with other DVD Players (such as InterActual and Power DVD, maybe Win Media Player, et al) and/or uninstall InterActual player (or better yet don't install that one in the first place--buggy and can be hard to get rid of). In first installing the Ulead package, there is a separate option to install the UDF Driver (its on the disk that came with the Pioneer). If you did install it, see if it's available for uninstall through the Control Panel's add/remove program. You can also look in the Ulead folders in the Program Files for UDF uninstall program. If it doesn't show up there, look in your Program files, find the files labled Ulead, open them and search out the UDF driver and delete it. Reboot, then see if this makes a difference in how the vid/audio capture works.
In addition, turn off all other applications (not processes) that are running when you do a video project and while it's running don't use your computer for *anything* else (like email or playing Doom--you'd be surprised--since video projects and multitasking are mutually exclusive). I run msconfig and uncheck the entire startup menu--that keeps even the programs that run in the background (and don't show up on your task bar) from starting. Reboot so that the new startup takes effect. Save projects to a different partition or drive if possible. Drink plenty of fluids and don't forget aspirin. Good luck.
