NOWHERE in the Ulead ad did I see mention for non-support of Haupage
I also have a Hauppauge TV card, OK slightly different model to yours BUT all the Hauppauge TV cards come with WinTV2000 - the software that turns your computer into a 'television' and includes a purpose built recording mode for that TV card.

I always record with WinTV2000. It is then a matter of using my Ulead products to edit and create the DVD.

Why use all purpose capture software (Ulead) when you have at your fingertips purpose built capture software (WinTV2000) it would not make sense.

It's the MPS issue

The problem is that v4.0 of Ulead's Movie Factory will not allow import of MPeg video files for cutting and adding menus. I get a message that says something like not a video file or no video in file. I know darn well they are video files because I can view them in Media Player and I can open and edit them in Movie Factory v3.0SE with no problem. I just wanted some of the extended features of 4.o but if I can't open MPSs what good is it?

HA, good line.

I wouldn't waste my time on running the program.
There's obviously something wrong with the installation.
Sounds like a corrupt installation and bad registry settings.

After installing the updates the program should perform well on a
machine with your specs.

Did you purchase an upgrade or full version of MF4?
The update requires one to have an upgradable version on the machine first.

By the sounds of it MF3se might be like the trial version of MF3 or MF4
and must be completely un-installed prior to installing MF4.

If you have the full version that doesn't need a previous version installed to install then
your probably going to have to remove MF4 & MF3se including all
registry settings referencing ulead and all the associated ulead folders.

Know you didn't want to hear that.

The "no video" error that you are receiving is because of the Key Error and Key Error means there are components not properly installer or missing. A simple reinstall could fix this but I bet you've tried that so you need to take a look into the registry for any other keys that are left.

For Hauppauge problem, well in fairness to Ulead they mentioned in the side of the box that WDM drivers are supported. I dont think Hauppauge uses WDM drivers but fortunately, Ulead released a capture plugin for Hauppauge PVR (both PCI and USB).
(Leadteks Winfast TV tuner uses WDM drivers so you do not need a capture plugin patch for this.)

For the capture plugin patch, seems you are using an activated TBYB (trial) version. Most complaints about the patch not being installed is because of the TBYB. I think you should contact Ulead TS (email) and ask for a another copy.
