Transitions not working
I have made movie, in process I have saved project, created video and burned. Final product work except transitions do no work. Looking back on storyboard and timeline they are their but when I playback they do not work. Any idea how to make work?

Transitions not working consistently
I feel your pain. I have a similar problem. Not all the transitions seem functional. When I play some of the clips they work fine and others do not. I am using the albums transition. I have deleted them all and addedd new ones and saved the project and I still have the same problem.

A number of users have complained that the album transitions do not work - I can't remember if any of them solved that problem but if they did I'm sure someone will post the solution .
Re your problem 62cwill - you haven't given us much information to work on - transitions normally just work !!. One thought that occurs to me is that in order to work the length of the video clip must be longer that the two halfs of the transitions which overlay it - are you using short clips or long transitions ??

Album transitions not working in VS9 too
Has anyone who had this problem ever solved it? The album transition isn't working for me in VS9. Really disappointing since it looks cool and was one of the reasons I was excited to try VS. Any help would be appreciated.

Album transitions not working in VS9
Forgive me if I've missed replies to this thread - and if so please enlighten me!
I have just upgraded VS8 to 9 with the physical version. This was done on a new Dell Optiplex - 2.8 GHz, 1GHz RAM, which has a second 250 GB HD for video.
I imported a project previously started in VS8 which includes Album transitions (AT). Whilst working in VS9, using instant playback, when the playback reached an AT, the video would freeze at the last frame immediately before the start of the AT, continuing when the AT period was over. I've seen this before in VS8 so wasn't unduly surprised. (Clearing temp files sometime cured this.)
However, after switching to 'High Quality Playback', the rendering stopped when the first AT was reached. When the AT was deleted the rendering stopped at the next one. Reverting to 'instant playback' and the video froze at the AT's as before.
Finished the project, with AT's, and went to create a MPEG video file in the usual way. Never had problems with VS8, but now in VS9 the rendering stops when the first AT is reached. On reflection, not surprising, given the above.
Removing all the AT's allowed the video file to complete.
Today I started a new project, capturing as AVI direct into VS9. An AT showed the same result in 'instant' & 'HQ' as above.
Captured the same footage into VS8, and 'instant playback' worked OK, but 'HQ' froze.
I had wondered if the problem was not VS related, but now I'm not so sure.
Any thoughts or suggestions most appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi
I reported the problem of album transitions, quoting general instablity and crashing. Someone made the comment about ensuring that I should have the latest driver for my video card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200). When I did this all the problems seemed to go away. If you are having problems do this, it seems that VS9 really needs have the best video driver.
All the best,
Michael

I kept my old VS8 with the new VS9. My album transitions in VS8 continue to function ok..but, when I try the same in VS9 they crash. I probably have a conflict with my computer with VS9 with Album Transitions. But, I am hearing from a few people they have instability problems with VS9, but not everyone.

Re: Album transitions not working in VS9 too
I video taped a service at church a couple of weeks ago. I did not need the entire service, so I cut out from where the pastor talked about the group who had came to minister to us to where he actually introduced them. In Album, I used "Flip5" for the effect and it works perfectly fine.
I must admit that it is the only one I've tried or used, though.

album transitions, now work. I was having trouble with the album transitions in VS9. I went to my graphics card website and downloaded the latest drivers. Now VS9 album transitions work great !. I didn't have this problem with VS8 with my old drivers. So it seems VS9 requires the latest graphics card drivers on my computer. This may be the case for a few of you, since this issue is not prevelent with most of the users.

Hey since I read a few threads about Nvidia drivers and updating, I went to Nvidia and checked on the current drivers. They just released (8/11/2005) a new Display driver set for alot of cards, including GeForce FX5200 (mine).
So you might want to update those puppies...
