Video Studio 8 and Sytem crash

Post by patrice75 »

Hi everybody,...
I'm a quite recent user of UVS V8 SE VDV which I just installed on my PC.
I have tried unsuccessfully tu use it to capture old VHS video tapes with a Graphics DVD Family capture device.

I have installed driver and UVS with no pb.

But as soon as i try to capture video by clicking on the video capture button.....
the system crahes and reboots.....

I went through Ulead Forum and on the net to find some advise. I found something about windows installer V3 to be removed,... something about virtual memory size but nothing works.

Can you help me sort this out please.
Many Thanks in advance.

Patrice.

Hi Patrice,

Same kind of situation for me with UVS 9.
I've just got a VideoXpress ADS-Tech device with it.

After normal install, my system is frozen when I try to setup the video standard to PAL ....
I have to reboot ....
This is for my Desktop.

When I try to install on my Laptop, UVS 9 gives me the other bug "Codec Trialactivation serious error".....(seen on other posts here).
How many PCs must we try to be successful ??

Otax (France too).

Patrice,

May be a part of solution.
I've uninstalled, and reinstall Ulead V9 on my laptop and it works :!:

First be sure that your network is not connected.
second : close all Anti-Virus, and Firewalls (you're not connected anymore).

Then try a new installation ....
Cross your fingers and lighten some candles (it can help  ).

Then when using Ulead, do not reconnect or relaunch firewalls, etc ....

I will try to do what you did but my version is UVS V8 (not V9)

However according to my problems with V8 i went to Ulead web site to download a V9 trial version to understand if my problems were coming from my V8 but I could not even install V9 on my PC.
I have a message such as "insert disk 1" looking for layout.bin file...
Very surprising for a version downloaded on the net, isn't it??

I will continue my tries with prayers and candles as suggested and let you know but if somebody can advise it would be welcome.
