Strange behaviour when playback AVI

Post by jgeorg »

Hi all,
I try to create a simple AVI file to share it in CD-ROM, so I use:

Video:
Size: 400x300 pixels
Compression: Cinepak codec by Radius
15 fps
Limit Data Rate to 650 K/sec
Pad frames for CD-ROM

Audio:
22Khz, 16bit, mono
Interleave 1 frame

Everything is OK when I play the video with media player, but when I play the video from an authoring software (i.e. Director) the playback is choppy. I have small pauses every sec, and this hapens only when the video plays from the CD-ROM.

I made some experiments and I imported the AVI file in another video editing software (Premiere). I created the same video with the same characteristics and the playback is ok. Do I miss something?

Thanks in advance for any available help.
