I am a NEW VS9 user after a week of total frustration with Pinnacle Studio 9. Just one too many "render hangs" with no solution. So I downloaded the trial VS9. I am impressed so far. Finished two projects with success.
Why did QT load with VS9? Why do I even need this program? I already have a couple of video viewers (WinMedia, Interactual, Intervideo, etc). Can I just uninstall QT and still use all of VS9 capabilities? I would think so, since I exit QT (and everything else in the background) when I am working in VS9.
Thanks for the great board. I have learned alot already in the two days I have been trying VS9.
Why Do I Need QuickTime

Thank you for the information. SmartAudio did get installed with the trial version. I guess I will keep QT.
After two days, I am pretty impressed. Another couple of days trial and then I'll order the full version. At least Ulead will give me $30 competitve upgrade from pinnacle studio 9 so my money spent on that unstable unreliable program won't be completely wasted..
