Cannot get transition effect in Slideshow, except Build

All,
I just installed V4 MF, and applied the latest update. When I attempt to build a slidehow, and apply any other transition effect, except those under "build", the photos just switch from one to another. This happens everywhere except the Build choices. I had tested using the Trial V4 version, which only comes with the "Build" option. I'm wondering if there is something left over on the system. I did use the latest updates so I am at the 4.04 level of MF. Help is greatly appreciated!!
