no i dont own any of the Ulead software. I had not heard of it until i found this forum doing a search.
i probably would use a graphic that would be mostly text. could use just text if it would make it any easier.
i am trying to download the trial version of vs9 but the ftp sight must be down. getting page cannot be displayed.

adding a watermark to video
Well, is it possible to add an image as a watermark to a Mpeg2 using VS9 or VS10. If so how? Thanx in advance.

Silversite,
Yes you can add an image as a watermark. It would be best to use an image format that supports transparency, like GIF, PNG, TGA. These formats have an alpha channel that VS recognizes. Placing it in an overlay track, VS uses the Alpha channel and makes the background transparent.
Now what you need to do is reduce the transparency of your image. To do this click on the Attribute tab, then on the Mask/Chroma Key button. On the top left just below the word Edit you should see 2 spin boxes. The top one is for setting the Transparency. Clicking on the down arrow, a slider will pop up. You can use it to change the transparency or just type a number into the box. (The bottom one is for borders).
For your image to be a watermark throughout the clip, just set the duration to match that of the clip..
That should get you started..

adding an Active Timer
Thank you!! That worked wonderfully and was really easy. Is there a way to add an active timer to the video that will run the length of the video and be displayed on screen?
