Can't get the capture to work

Hi all,
I am new to this forum.
I have just purchased a new HP computer running XP Home.
I have Photo Impact 6 installed now, but I can't get the screen capture to work. Does XP have some thing built in the would prevent the capture from working? Any ideas????

I never use the screen capture function. If you want the contents of the screen, press 'Prt Scr' on your keyboard. This will put the screen contents on the clip board. In PI, select 'Edit' from the menu and paste as a new document. The same sequence but with 'Alt' > 'Prt Scr' will only copy the active window.

Thanks for the information.
I played around with it this morning and got the Capture Screen to work.
All I had to do was to go into File>Capture>Setup
Then changed the setting for the Hotkey in the Activation Area.
I changed it to Ctrl+F11 and presto......... My selected an area box popped up!!!!!
I like using the select an area box, then you can copy just what you want,
not the whole page or screen. No cropping is needed.

I love this tool, give it a try.

I don't use screen images a lot and hence did not bother to find out about this function. Glad you worked it out and posted it here. May help someone else in turn also.
