PhotoImpact 11 problems

Hellò everybody,
I use PI 11 mainly to correct photos , my problems are:
1°) when I select any of the tools in the " Standard selection tool" the following buttons in the "attribute tool bar" disappear:
-move selection marquee
-preserve base image
-select on objects
-crop the base image around a selection
2°) working with layers and objects the program crashes quite often, the message is always the same: " Photoimpact has encountered a problem and needs to be closed etc..."
3°) I created a " Plugins" folder in C: but I can't select that folder from: file-preferencies-plugins because my choice is not retained from the program. I must copy the filters directly in the " plugin" folder of Photoimpact
Got in touch with Ulead's Tech. Dept, they answered very quickly suggesting to uninstall and reinstall with no risult, I am sorry to say.
