Hi there,
I've searched the forums for this one and I haven't seen anything directly on this. I've recorded 30 min of video on my Sony DCR-DVD203 (DVD camcorder). It creates a new chapter everytime you start and stop shooting, so there is about 48 chapters on my disk. I finalized the disk in order to get VS9 to read it and that works great. However, while I can see all the chapters when I go to import the DVD, it seems to be only able to import the entire DVD as 1 large mpg, even though I only select several chapters (or even just one!).
Other details:
1) The DVD is identified by VS9 as a DVD-VR.
2) If I copy the DVD to the hard disc and try the import from there, the result is the same.
3) I double and triple checked that I haven't selected any other chapters or the "Title 2" box that would import all the chapters.
4) I have the update pack installed.
5) This was working at one time on my computer, using the same DVD (albeit with fewer minutes and chapters) although I can't figure out what's changed (I did install the update pack along the way, but I can't remember if I did that before or after it stopped working).
If you have any ideas on this or need me to post more information, please let me know! At 30 minutes, I could just import it as one large mpeg file but it's much easier to edit as smaller chunks.
Thanks,
-Jonathan

OK, it is sometimes helpful to write stuff down. After reading what I put in the post, I got an idea of something else to test. I decided to take another DVD with only 2 chapters and import just one of them. Well, wouldn't you know it? It imported just the 1 chapter that I wanted.
Not sure where that leaves me, but if you have any suggestions, I'm still willing to take them.
