putting voice track on videostudio 9

Hi Everyone

I am using videostudio 9 and want to put a voice track on a video that I am doing, I have connected the micra[phone up to my PC and I know that iyt works ok as i have used it with another editing programme so their is no problem with the pC too, when I click on the voice record button I get the windows audio mixer window open which should let me see the voice level, when I speak into the mic their is NO response and when I record their is just silence on the voice track can anyone give me some advice on what I am doing wrong.

Have you both tried opening the windows RECORDING control window - not the playback volume control - and ensuring that there is a tick in the 'select' box under "Microphone".
