Cannot apply a video filter to a Title Clip

Post by spurrymoses »

This is probably just confirmation because it seems fairly clear to me that doing a Video Filter isn't allowed or doesn't work on a Title Clip.

The point of confusion and the reason I'm asking is that it's possible to apply a Video Filter to a Title Clip and it renders in the particular filter's dialog... but after you press OK and render the video - MSP8 doesn't render the filter/effect. It ignores it.

Is it the case then, that this is somehow 'illegal' - albeit confusingly possible within the user interface?

I'm actually trying to do a Fireworks on a title - and the firework thingy clearly shows along with the title in the 'Firework' dialog - looks perfect. But then the firework doesn't show at all when I render - just the title shows.

Do the title clip in a sub-timeline. You can then filter its virtual clip.
