8.0SE Basic crashes on start up...

Windows XP sp2 HP Pavillion
P4 1g ram..
Nvidia g force..

On start up I get the crash error mod name ulibtif.dll

searched all over the place for the problem, reinstalled a bunch of times.
Still same problem. 8.0SE came with my Microteck scanner. It did install and work correctly in my new laptop.. so must be some sort of registry or install problem.

Any clues ? Thanks group

Side note: the "Instant Viewer" loads and views tifs no problem.

I downloaded the trial 8.5 version, it installs and runs no problem. I doubt I will buy it because I am supposed to have the basic version running that came with my scanner.

OK....
It appears the problem is that one of my tif files Ulead didn't like the format.
It does open in Corel PSP, Irfan, and a really old version of PSP Jasc, and if using Windows you select filmstrip while viewing the directory.
