Video Capture
I am attempting to capture 8 mm analog movies from a cammera. I have an Adaptec AVC-2210 video capture device. It connect via an USB connection to the computer. When I attempt to capture usinf Video Studio ver 9, I am unable to do so. I get an error message :Failed to build a preview graph. I am able to capture from this device when using another vendor's software (Sonic)
Analog capture is tricky, and I'd suggest that you stick with whatever works with your hardware.
Once you have a digital copy of the video on your hard drive, you can edit it with Video Studio.
Most (all?) capture device manufacturers will include capture software in the package. I use the capture software that came with my capture card. (Sometimes they throw-in some Ulead software too, even though the capture function may not work with their hardware.)
My hypothesis is that video capture drivers are not as standardized as more-common peripherials like printers. It seems that Ulead can't communicate with some of these drivers.
