I'm working on a Christmas video for my family that has video and pictures of Christmas in the past 10 years with flashbacks to videos made 30+ years ago. I have everything done except for the credits and wanted to do something fun and/or sentimental there. I've thought about a photo montage to run with the credits, but I've done that several times in the past so I'm looking for something different.
Any ideas out there of things you've done or thought about?

ccblue,
If you have some clips of funny moments, goofy faces, etc. you could do a bloopers overlay when you're rolling your credits. Also, you may have something that would look funny played at a fast speed that you could use in your "bloopers". Have your credits rolling on one side while you use about 1/4 of a screen overlay for your bloopers. If you have a bit of material to use to can add some bogus credits, and even throw in some jokes or funny comments timed to go along with the bloopers as well just to keep things interesting.
Hopefully this'll give you some ideas!

hi
you could recreate the intro to one your favourite films.
i recreated the intro to star wars on a video of my holiday but obviously changed the scrolling text to stuff that was pertinant to the holiday and changed the title to 'spain tours'.
worked a treat and grabs the attention!
have a look and see what existing christmas films are like or choose a film your kids really like.

Take a Look at my "Super 8 Tutorial" here
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8849
Although I was primarily looking at how to tackle Super 8 films. I also included something that may be of general interest to any sort of footage.
I used one of the sample videos "V01" some cinema style currtains that open.
Place this before your video to give a sitting at the cinema effect.
At the end of your video play "Vo1" in reverse so that the curtains now close again.
For normal video footage (as opposed to super 8 etc) you could dispense with all the stuff in the middle - or you could included it anyway as its a nice effect.
