Menu & Tool Bars Gone PI 11

Post by groundhog »

This is the second time this has happened to me.
I got a memory error and when I started PI 11 all my tool bars and the menu bar were gone. I can get the tool bars back using shortcuts, but can't recover the menu bar. (the image I was working on when I got the memory error was only 1296x2052 at 600dpi)
Last time I had to reinstall PI 11.
I am getting tired of reinstalling this program. Initially I had to reinstall several times to get all the features to work. Last time (the above problem) after I reinstalled I also had to reinstall most of my plugins. A real pain.
Anyone got any ideas (besides going back to PI 10) ?

Pentium 4 - 3.2 mhz
1 GB memory
Windows XP Home SP 2
Radeon X800 Pro

Thanks

The best idea is going back to PI10 and wait for a patch, which hopefully solves at least some of the most annoying problems...

Most of the program, as far as I know, works OK for me bar the bizarre ENS letters error. If I re-install the program, is this likely to be cured? The program disk supplied when I ordered the software, contains files and no InstallShield to self install. Is it just 'drag & drop' and hope for the best :?

try to delete the file
<disk>:\Documents and Settings\<your account>\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact\11.0\profiles\Current.xum

eagleshen,

perfect - that worked! Thanks.

all Ulead support told me was when I reinstall be sure to erase the temporary files.

I had decided that I've had so many problems with PI 11 to go back to PI 10 unless there was an easy way to cure this problem.

thanks again.
