I try opening a MSP7 tape scan psf file using MSP8 but it causes MSP8 to close down.
Anyone else seen this ?
Thanks

I use tape indexes as the database of my tapes. It would take me much time to scan all the tapes again for each newer version of MediaStudio.
Before switching to the newer version, I would like to know if it really worths it. And certainly the incompatibility problem makes me think twice.
I find that the ability of MSP8 to view scanned tape without a camcorder connected a huge advantage over MSP7 (which menu items are disabled when no camcorder is connected). But it's useless as it crashes whenever I try to open a tape index created with MSP7. It would be nice if there is workaround to the problem.
Immagine that if MS word is not backward compatible and that you'll have to type again all your documents for each new version
