No audio when capturing video

I have installed movie factory 4 with updates and thought I had managed to capture analog video with audio from my s-vhs vcr in the default dvd hq mpeg setting. The video is fine but I can't get the audio to work within the preview or capture display. If the saved WMP file is opened and played in WMP everything is fine and MF will also play it if the ENHANCE VIDEO option is selected. I don't want this option and simply want to capture video and edit out ads to burn to dvd without any fancy additions. Can there be a reason why audio is not heard but has clearly been recorded. My capture device is WinTv usb 2 and I get PAL. Any suugestions re audio settings would be appreciated. I think I have missed something really simple. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Everything worked fine when I had the trial version, but I ran into problems when I upgraded from moviefactory 2 to 4. I've had the exact same problems as you are plus it wants to crash evry once in a while too. New and old mpeg files don't have sound on moviefactory 4 unless I go to the "enhance" part of the program. When I load a new or old mpeg in windows media player the sound and video are fine(video is fine in moviefactory 4 also). I've uninstalled/installed a couple of times now with no improvements. Some help would be greatly appreciated from anybody or yourself if you have found a way to fix the problem.

Have you downloaded and installed the latest update to MF4?
It's important to install that update.

I'm an unfortunate poor piece of crap to these people because I bought the "SE UPGRADE VERSION" so basically I'm screwed in that department.

Hi,
I'm not familiar with being able to upgrade to a SE version.
Do you mean the Standard version and not the Disc Creator version?
The only software I know that's SE is "Special Edition" and is usually
included with a hardware device from a 3rd party vendor.

The patch on the website applys to both the standard and disc creator versions.
Have you tried to install it?

I have moviefactory 4 Standard Edition Upgrade that I bought through the Ulead mall. I have installed update 4.04(the newest one) and it says that it has installed, but it hasn't helped. When you look at the update page on Ulead for update 4.02 it says that it won't work with standard edition and any suites versions. It doesn't say that for any of the other updates including the newest one(4.04), so I'm not sure if that applies to just 4.02 or to all of them. I've got a spare hard drive that I back stuff up on to, so I think tomorrow I'm going to do a complete format and reinstall windows and see if that helps.

It seems like everyone that has had the trial version installed and then installed the retail version has problems.
Glad I never tried the trial version.
