URGENT - HELP WITH SMART DOWNLOAD

The following is in the Frequently asked questions Section on the Ulead Website:

I'm having problems downloading files from the Ulead Web site. How can I get the file?
A:
For trial versions, beta versions, updates or upgrade patches, Ulead usually provides more than one download site. Therefore, if the download failed on your first attempt, please try again by clicking another site.

If you have tried all the sites listed but are still having problems, please check your Internet connection to make sure your connection is working properly. If you are sure your Internet connection is fine, it could be a problem with our server. Sometimes this occurs when the Internet is at its busiest, but the situation will only be temporary. Please try downloading again after a couple of hours.

If you are still experiencing problems downloading, click here to report a downloading problem.
We'll fix the problem ASAP.

Hello,
I had this problem dowloading Ulead complements, i solved it cleaning temporary internet + histos folders then the dowload re-starts at the begining of the file. Maybe this can help don't know for smart...

I have just clicked the link filled out all the relevant information only to have the email returned undeliverable.

My query is along the same lines as everyone else here. and that is the smartdownloading feature.
I have a full registered copy of Photo impact 10. Purchased from Harvey Norman Tasmania. when I try to get anything from smartdownload I get the same message from each button I press. " Cannot get URL from push file" Error ( 2010

I have had this error from day one of using this product and in particcular I am looking for the Alien skin filters that used to be with PI 8. Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
I saw in an earlier post where someone was asked for inforamtion on their operating system., Details are below. Windows xp with Sp2, Hp 522A, with 1.7 ghz chipset. 1 gig of ram 80 gig h/d and 250 gig h/d. running Vet antivirus ( Etrust) and sygate firewall . even when these are both disabled I still cannot get anything to show up in the smart dowload box. I have also updated the patch that was available December 30, 2005.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the reply I have gone to the link and all I find here is the following regarding my problem.
Q: My Ulead product was an ESD (Downloadable) version and I had trouble downloading files using the Smart Download feature.
A: You can use both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator to download files using Smart Download technology. You do NOT need to use Internet Explorer as your default browser to enable Smart Download. However, Internet Explorer must be able to connect to the Internet.

If your Internet Explorer can't connect to the Internet, change your settings in IE using Tools > Internet Options > Connections. If you don't know how to set up the configuration on the Connections tab, please use the Online help or the Internet Explorer Wizard. This will enable Smart Download to work correctly.

Firstly this is not an ESD version.. secondly I am using Broadband which is connected to the net 24 hours a day and I still cannot get the download to start, I have just checked the settings as per the recommendations. Any other solutions ???

Hi Dummy. This is the same reason I am posting here..... I keep getting an error of cannot get URL from push file No matter what button I press. This is happening in Photo Impact 10 which I bought in Australia. just so I could get the manuals also. Pointless upgrading to PI 11, if 10 wont work as it should..... Might add Smart download has not worked from the day I purchsed the product,

If anyone has some information on this problem it is greatly appreciated. I have been through Ulead direct, and was directed to a FAQ page that covered the ESD version PLUS instructions on how to set up my internet connection... Considering I am on broadband and connected 24 hours a day. it didnt work either.

Heinz_oz maybe you can help me here. seeing as you are just across the water from me. ~Tasmania~

Hi Steve....... re the link you gave me. I logged into there and then clicked for Photo Impact 10 and it takes me to this page. http://www.ulead.com/pi/esd1.htm
When I download the files from there they try to install as PI 11 and naturally I dont have that installed Only Photo Impact 10.
Maybe there were never any extras for PI10, as I mentioend first up I have the full suite for Photo Impact.. The main thing I am looking for is Alien skin filter. I had it for PI8 but cannot get it here for 10.. And I believe it was an extra for PI8 not standard and only available via smartdownload.

Do you still have photoimpact 8?
If so you could try copy paste of the filter from version 8 to your version.
Going by my version 11 as a guide the filters should be located here:
but obviously change the version number accordingly.
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact 11\plugin

As for the extra content, There appears to be an error on the Ulead pages

The remaining program content of the download version of PhotoImpact 11 (Full or Upgrade version) and the trial download can be downloaded below. It is divided into 12 modules that can be accessed with SmartDownload.

However if you look at the actual links to the extra content the links vary between these pages

Double check to make sure you were on the correct page as they are lok identical.
