Colours disappeared

Help me. I cannot get colours on my videos in VideoStudio. I have colours on the video, I have older videoclips which can be shown in colour, but when I try to import from my videomachine I only get it in black and white. What have I done wrong?

Sven, we can't really offer any sensible advice since you have not given us any hard information about exactly how you are capturing from your 'video machine'. I interpret the latter to mean you are trying to capture from a stand-alone VHS video recorder. At a guess, I would say your problem is caused by the cable connection to whatever capture device you have connected to your computer. Most likely, you are trying to use an S-video cable, which often changes colour to black-and-white when plugged into a capture device. If this is the case, then try using the yellow RCA cable instead of the S-video, and of course leave the RCA red and white audio cables attached.

The colour change can also occur if you are playing, for example, an NTSC tape in a PAL 'video machine' or vice versa.

But as I said, I cannot be more accurate than this without more information.
