Hi guys,
This is a simple question. Once I add a video to the 1st timeline and cut some parts, vs9 automatically join the boundaries and does not allow any gap between them. I would like to have the gap, because I will put another video in the second timeline and use it as a background music and let it show during the gaps from the first video.
Like this:
1st timeline: MMMMGGGGMMMMGGGGGGMMMMMMMMGGMMMMMMM
2nd timeline:SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
M=main video
S=background video showing during the gaps (the audio to be used is also from this stream).
G=GAP
I have tried to revert the videos (the 1st video to the 2nd timeline and the 2nd to the 1st) but it won't let me cut the video while in the 2nd timeline. VS9 allows me to add clips in the 2nd timeline (and add gaps!) but this is time consuming.
I have tried Editstudio (trial) and I could easily produce my videos much faster.
Am I missing something in VS9?
Thanks!
superpina.

superpina,
There are probably a few ways you can do this. I think the easiest way would be to put your "S" video on the Video Track since it is continuous (at least for audio). Then Multi-trim the video you want gaps in. If you can't Multi-trim on the Overlay Track then drag the video to the Video Track and multi-trim it there and then drag it back to the overlay. Now you're not going to be able to use transitions, however you can you the Fade-in and Fade-out Attribute on the overlay Track for a nice effect.
Hope this helps,
Ron
