how to import .wmv dvd

I tried to import a .wmv dvd, but Video Studio 9 did not recognize the disc. I already had it saved on my hard drive so I selected it from My Videos. The quality looked fine when I reviewed it in the project window, so I burned it to a dvd. I played the edited DVD in a stand alone DVD player and the quality is quite terrible, very fluttery. Does anyone know how to import a .wmv DVD and how to make sure the quality is good when burning.

WMV isnt a DVD compliant format. If you burned it to a DVD using VS, or another AUTHORING program, not just simply burning the WMV file to DVD. VS should recognize it as a regular DVD.

So, does that mean Video Studio 9 can not import the DVD and convert it to mPeg?

If Video Studio 9 can not import a .wmv DVD is there another program either in Ulead or something else that can do it?
