Creating Video File
Hope someobody out their can come back with quick response to this one. I just captured about 30 min of film using the movie studio wizard using DV-1. I applied a Sports Theme and selected the create video file. A box comes up giving me choices on how to save. I am not sure weather to use DV or DVD at this point. Also when ready to start a box come up to same entitled Sports and looks like going to save as an avi vile to the Sports directory. I thought when you saved the file name would end in VSP. Can someone help me. I assume I can put the file where I want it or organizational purposed.

Hi
A video studio project contains all the clips, transitions, effects etc.
These can be viewed in the timeline. The clips in the timeline are merely thumbnail links to the main files held on your hard drive.
If you use the wizard, clips and effects are automatically inserted from templates that you have selected.
The completed project is then placed in the main editing timeline.
( File Save/Save As) The project is saved as a *.VSP file, this is a small file that holds all the edited information. The project can be edited at a later date until complete.
When you have completed all edits and are satisfied with the project, a new video file should be made which combines all the items in the timeline into one file.
From Share Create Video File, This option starts a process to combine the project into one.
A file usually (Dvd Pal) or (Dvd Ntsc) format is created.
Using this file we burn a dvd.
Hope this helps

Much better to use the full editor than the wizard - so much more functionality so many more chances to be creative. The .vsp file is what you create while still editing (although I didn't think you could do that in the wizard) but when you have finished editing you need to create your final file, in the full editor the create video file choice will give you the options as saving as .avi - if you want to send the video back to your camera or MPEG -1 or Mpeg-2 or even the windows media format if you want to send the video via e-mail.
You can direct the created video file to be stored anywhere you wish on your computer.
