trouble adding video to project

Post by landslider »

I'm on a P4 1.9 with a x800 pro radeon card, 1.5GB of ram, with 26gig f hdd space free.

I'm using ULEAD VideoStudio 9.something

When I add a clip to my project in the 'edit' tab, the clip itself plays fine. When I switch to play the project, the video is really slow and it only shows the first 50 frames or so. It looks about normal if I speed it up a ton, but if I do that it ends up only playing 10 seconds or so of video.

From what I can see it's only getting 50 frames, but spacing out each frame by quite a bit. I thought it just might be slow, so I created a .wmv out of it and played that, but it still has the same problem. The audio portion plays fine though. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hope this isn't a stupid question with an easy answer, but I couldn't find anything relating to this.

What are the properties of the video you are using in your project? How did you capture them? What edits did you do before trying to play them back in Project mode? And have you tried burning the project (after producing a DVD-compliant mpeg-2 of the project) to an RW disc to see what happens there?

The capture was using my Kodak Digital Camera. The movie was in .mov format. I didn't try to edit it at all, I just wanted to combine the video with a good audio track via ULEAD. Seems simple enough, right? Image
