Using Ulead VS9 to capture and edit HD video

I'm using Sony hvr-a1e (Exactly the same as the hcr). After hours of downloading relevant patches and updates I've eventually managed to capture the video quite well - not seamlessly as claimed! Could someone please tell me what settings to use for rendering a) as a file to be kept and played on the PC and b) to be made into a playable DVD?
