Simple question about text

Post by daddog »

I have a hard time typing in some text then using an animation. I have to retype the text "exactly" as I did before or the text will move. I have tried to copy the text as I did the first time, but I am unable to paste it in the text title track, so I have to retype it. Is there a way to copy what you have already typed and paste it again in the title track?

Thanks in advance. :)

Put your text in a regular text file in Windows. Then highlight the section, and do a COPY, then in the TEXT editor of VS9, hit CTL+V (Paste).

daddog - you do not paste text into the title track - you paste it into the preview window while the cursor is flashing after you have double clicked the prompt - "Double Click here to add a title"

Ok.. I see now.

Odd it did not work with the mouse, but when I use Ctrl + V it pasted just fine. :)

Thank you gentlemen. :)

I work in a computer environment - in fact I am at work on nights reading this in a quiet period and I am sitting in front of 4 Computer monitors now.

Its actually quite common for programs not to have copy/paste facilities by way of a mouse click. the opposite of Ctrl-V to paste is Ctrl-C to copy.

If you use internet banking you will probably find that it will not let you use the mouse to copy/paste either, though the keyboard method will work. The banks do that as a security feature.

Hi

Once you have made the first title you can reproduce other copies by :-

1 / Dragging the first title from the title track to the library.
2 / Drag the title back to the timeline.

This second title is an exact copy of the first with the text in the same position.

Change the animation to create a different effect.
