Gif Animator-adding a border-help

Post by pgmeunier »

I have created an animated ad to use on eBay but they require a visable border. I don't know what I am missing but I can't add a border for the life of me. Can anyone help? Thank you, Paula

Follow these instructions carefully...

Select Frame 1.

In the Object Manager, click the button to add a new blank object. Make sure it's showing at the top in the Object Manager.

There are a few ways to make a border, but we'll try this way.

Select the Fill Tool. Then pick the color you want for the border.

The Transparency should be set to 0. Make sure the check is on for "Allow painting on transparent areas." Click with the fill tool.

Next, on the Object Manager add another blank object. Change the color in the Tool Panel to something quite different. Fill that object. It should be at the top of the object manager.

In the Object Manager, double click on the last object you just made. Go to the Position and Size tab. Make sure to uncheck "Keep aspect ratio." Change the dimensions of the object to be 4 pixels smaller in height and width. (i.e., if it was 468x60, make it 464x56) Change the position to 2 Left and 2 Right. Click OK. It should now be in the center of your image.

Click on the Magic Wand selection tool. Click on that object in the Workspace.

In the Object Manager, select the first object we just made, the one that is the color of the border you want. Now click on the selection options button in the attribute toolbar, and select "Make selection area transparent." Click it again and pick "select none."

In the object manager, select the second object made, and delete it.

You should now have a 2 pixel wide border showing.

The last step is to make that border visible in all frames.

Click the "Synchronize Object" button Image That will bring up this box:

Use those settings, click OK and we're done.
