suggestion for keeping PI open for XP

Post by tshoop7 »

here's a suggestion until they get it fixed for those with Windows XP,
I create a System Restore point and name it for "working PI" without the quotations and that helps at times to keep it running once it's installed,
but this PI 11 seems to take fits when it works...
hope it helps,

The problem was that it would start opening and then immediately close and not open completely,
Thanks

Only problem with system restore points are that they do not last very long - sometimes just a matter of a few days, it depends on the size of your Hard Drive and the percentage you have reserved for keeping system restores.

If you wish to use this sort of restore you would be better going for a hard drive image with programs such as Norton Ghost or Partition Magic.
Problem though is where you save the image to as they could also be quite large.

Best option is to explore why you are having this problem and fixing it.

I agree with Mr. sjj1805. If your installation of PhotoImpact is unstable, then there's most probably something wrong with it.

You might want to contact Ulead Tech Support for this. Go to http://www.ulead.com/tech/techsupport.htm and submit an email through the Techincal Support Form.

Ulead products no longer support Adobe Plugins

Post by tshoop7 »

Hi,
This was news to me, since I was able to do it with the older versions,
but when I realized that whenever I invoked the "Adobe Plugins" in
the 'Preferances' menu of PI 11 and the program would cause the
PI to close before opening, and reported it to Ulead Tech Support;
I received this message back from Ulead Tech Support that "You cannot use Adobe Plugins with Ulead Products. Adobe Plugins are only meant to be used for Adobe products. Ulead products don’t support other company’s utilities." What as everyone else found out regard this issue. Once I reinstalled it, 'didn't delete the temp folders and didn't set the additional plugin folders for Adobe in Ulead and got the full version' everything worked after cleanup...???
Thanks,

how did you get it to work in PI 10

Post by tshoop7 »

Hey,
how did you get it to work in PI 10, they use to for me in PI 10 but
since I have the PI 11 installed too, when I tried to use the Adobe Plugins, and it began that closing and hung up and wouldn't completely open again, so I can't get it to work with them anymore now with PI 11 installed too.
Don't understand it, Wonder if that Windows Malicious Software update considers some of the plugins, malicious software?
Let me know how you got it to work?

Then in the top box entitled
"Define additional folders for plug-ins:"
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins
(I have Adobe Photoshop CS)
