Changing view granulation in MSP8

Post by spurrymoses »

I'm sorry I can't search for this problem because I just don't know what the terminology for it is.

I'm playing with MSP8 (just downloaded the trial) but my favourite, often used feature has disappeared from version 7. I used to select a big button with 3sec, 2sec, Fit Window etc.

Now, all I can find is these very small buttons, that I need tweezers to find and this button has gone? Can anyone tell me how to get this back.

PS - It's crashed 3 times already in 15 minutes.

Oh dear, I think I've found it. It's this tiny scrolly bar button thing... ;-)

Is there any way to indicate what the granularity is, Most of the time I can't work out whether I need to scroll left or right... and I really need to know whether it's 2/3/5 sec etc.

To the left top of the timeline, you have the zoom slider. Above the slider, you have a little mountain (zoom out), an envelope (zoom all) and a big mountain (zoom in). Right-click on the last-named and you have the numeric time scales (see also p. 54 of the manual)
