setting on version 8

I have another question or two. First when I am on the capture page and i click the options button. I get three options Capture , Input source, and capture properties. When I click on capture options all I get is a small window that has a bunch of options that are all greyed out. The Only thing you could put a check mark in is Capture to library. I think once I was at this window and was allowed to check more but I havn't had that option for a while. Right now there is a check mark in the Disable preview screen while capturing ( allthough it is grey out) when I capture the video still displays in the preview window anyway. The next option is input source. Here 90% percent of the time i check it it says input source video S-video. Now I keep changing it back to composit video and it keeps changing back to s video everytime i restart and do other things like edit or whatever. The rest of the things in this window beside tv system are greyed out. Then we have the third window which is capture properties and there we have profile template which has things like high good standard etc. And of course the rest of the options in this window are greyed out. Am I missing something here? First why do they have three different things that I have to mess with why not just have one window to open and handle all of the things you would need to handle in a capture. Then did I get a cut down version or something? Why are all these things always grey out? If you can never change them why are they there? It says Bitrate mode with a drop down box , Well I could never change that so why is it there. Audio mode is there too but of course it is always grey out. Why can I see the video in the preview window when the box is checked disable and why is the box greyed out. More Frustrations
