AC-3 plug-in and Video Studio 9

Post by edmentor »

I'm thinking of upgrading to VS9 from VS8. Is the AC-3 plug-in required for import of a DVDR from a DVD Recorder or DVD camcorder?

What Dolby Digital features are included in the basic product and when is the AC-3 plug-in required?

Thank you in advance.

VS9 comes with Dolby AC-3 capability built in.
Everything you can do with the plugin for VS8 can be done without a plugin in VS9.

As with the VS8 plug-in, though, the VS9 AC-3 is only dual channel stereo, not 5.1 (which is in the new Media Studio Pro 8, I believe), let alone any of the more exotic versions of multi-channel audio...

And unlike UVS8 with the AC-3 Plugin, UVS9 can directly capture audio to the AC-3 format.
