What happened to Video Paint?!!

Post by d mann »

Media Studio Pro has been the best, and most comprehensive editing suite that I have worked on. One of the greatest assests for me, was the video paint program. However, this appears to be missing in version 8. Will it be added in the final release, or has it been taken out completely?

There have been a few threads re this query. Both VP and CGI were removed from MSP, and bundled together as VGL (Video Graphics Lab). However, MSP 7 will happily cohabit with MSP 8. When you install 8, don't uninstall 7, you can then still use VP & CGI.
The only changes so far (I believe) are the ability to handle HD and a few cosmetic changes.

What would be the additional cost of VGL? I've been using MSP 5 for analog purposes for many years, MP 7 Video Paint is not an option for me. Besides, I want to be able to edit and paint in HDV or DVCPRO. I have been a huge fan of MS Pro since the late 90's, and now I have to seriously reconsider if I will stay with Ulead. Video Paint was a huge asset, it make things so much easier.

When purchased with MSP8, you can get VideoGraphics Lab (which includes Video Paint and CG Infinity) for 29.99.

Here's a couple of links with more info:
