Hello,
I need to edit some photos for the web, however, I can only seem to open 24-bit format pictures and noticed that I cannot open any 32-bit photos. When I open a 32-bit picture, PI7 opens up 4 copies of the same picture each with different colors. When I preview a picture before opening it it looks fine...... but when it opens I get 4 copies of what I described above. I am still using win98se.
How can I correct this or work around this???
PI7 - Can't Open Pictures Properly - 32bit??

re: Can't Open Pictures Properly - 32bit??
Are the pictures in CMYK format? If it is, then PhotoImpact only has limitted support for this and has to open it with 4 different canvases.
I'm not sure for PI 7, but for version 8, it has the feature to combine these split channels into one. Click on the menu "Format -> Data Type" then select "Combine from CMYK".

Yes, it appears to be in CMYK format and it is opening in 4 canvases like you mentioned.
I'm going to open PI7 shortly to see if I can change it as per your instructions. Unfortunately I don't have PI8 and I don't know how to use any other graphics program either! I let you know what happens when I try it out next morning!
Thanks for your help, I couldn't find this info anywhere!!!!!!
