Kate,
This error seems to occur in Ulead VideoStudio every so often but is somewhat rare in MovieFactory. Looking through various postings I didn't find a definitive answer but a popular theory is incompatible video file(s). This could be caused by capturing (encoding) in a format that isn't supported by MF2.5 or perhaps an incorrect setting used during the capture.
Do you **always** get the error message or is it just when using the specific clips you mentioned in your posting?
A few suggestions...
I'd recommend installing a free program (no spyware) called KC Video Inspector. Once installed, simply browse to the video clip you want to use in your project and it's technical details will be displayed. If you would then post the details here it might help to diagnose the problem.

In MF2.5's burning UI is there an (advanced) option to "Create DVD folders"? If so, select this option (also unchceck the "burn to disc" box) and export your project to a "VIDEO_TS" folder. You can then try using a different program such as Nero, Roxio, etc., to burn your VIDEO_TS to DVD.
If all else fails you could download the MF4 trial version and see if you get better results. If so, I believe MF2.5 qualifies for Ulead's upgrade pricing discount.
Lastly, if you could add some info about your computer to the signature box of your web board profile it would be helpful
