Greetings,
I would like to know if there is a way to incorporate 5.1 audio (the AC3 files of which I have encoded myself and work using PowerDVD as the testing platform) into DVDs produced by MovieFactory Version 3.5? So far, ever time I have tried to incoroporate a file, it has been rerendered to AC3 2/0. The pulldown menu that lets you change the output type under the advanced MPEG compression settings is permanenty greyed out, and I can't change it to 5.1 to match my audio input...
Is it possible to do it with this program?
Cheers,
Ozzie
5.1 audio in MovieFactory 3.5?
Upgrading to MF4 probably won't help. The only Ulead product with 5.1 capability is Media Studio 8.
Make sure you check Do Not Convert Compliant MPEG files under Project Settings. I think both the audio and video need to be DVD compliant for this option to work. (There are seperate audio / video check-boxes in DVD Workshop.)
But, I'm not sure if anyone has had success with 5.1 yet... I seem to recall that someone did.
Search the forum for "5.1" to see what you can find.
It may be that the file is not really compliant even though you can play the file with PowerDVD. (Or, maybe the Ulead programs just think it's not compliant.) Are you using a licensed AC3 encoder? Somebody had trouble using a file created with AC3enc (which is unlicensed).
You may need to upgrade to Media Studio Pro 8. Or, some versions of Pinnacle Studio 10 have built-in 5.1 channel surround. (I think Pinnacle has the most affordable 5.1 software.)
